Dog behaving strangely after castration

My boy should have been done a lot earlier I don't know why his previous owners didn't do it. He was left alone for quite a while sometimes up to 12 hours which was probably when he discovered how much fun he could have with a cushion! what's that saying, "The devil makes work out of idle hands:giggle:"

Ginam The devil makes work out of idle hands, but it wasn't idle hands:ROFLMAO:

Anyway hows the little fella this morning?
Hi Diabalo he is so much better today thank you. He is just confused as to why he can't jump up and snuggle up to me on the sofa anymore so I don't sit on it as he screams from his crate when I do. Hurry up Monday when he gets his final check up(y)

Thats great to hear, it's very distressing when you cant help them. I don't know how you administerd the Metacam, we put our Cairn terriors in his food and he keeps that down ok. They are all different tho.

One of the house / pet sits we do and have done a few times, on day two of our last visit we had to take him to a pre arranged vet appointment only to be checked after a previous experience, that day he happily jumped in our car, once we got near the vets he realised. 🤔
Anyway all was good came out had a long walk along the seafront, but the next day we had problems getting him in the car because he thought he was going to the vets again. 😁

The next three weeks were fine, once he realised we was going walking in the mountains he was wanting to go first. 😎 Bob.

I put the Metacam in his food too. I have let him out of the crate and he is basking in the sun by the patio doors so I have left him there all morning, he looks so peaceful but means I haven't been able to take my other boy out yet for his walk.

Yes I know but he is a Patterdale Terrier and in tact worth a lot of money. I can't risk him being stolen and just being used to be put to stud. His previous owner had to let him go as she couldn't cope with him, now I know why the randy little so and so :giggle:

Maybe he wanted to be put to stud and now you’ve dashed all his hope.

Ohh and our Patterdale bitch never had an issue in using a crate 👍

yes he loves it, the crate is on loan from a friend but after this I am going to leave it in the room with the door open so he can go in and out when he pleases. If he still likes it I will buy him one. I loved being able to take my other dog out for a long walk yesterday and not having to worry about Leo as I knew he was safe from harm in the crate.

We had a Border Collie/Shetland Collie cross, we had his "wheels lowered" as soon as he raised his leg to wee. It was so funny when we brought him home from the Vets.
He stood there in the kitchen looking so sorry for himself, his legs slowly slipping out from underneath him, until he was flat out, just a star shape on the floor.

Maybe sometimes he's associating having his lead on with going to the vets and winding up in a bit of pain / discomfort?
I let him out of the crate today and just let him mooch around the house I haven't got anything done and haven't been able to take my other dog out but he has just loved it. He is now lying in front of the fire, his favourite place at night and is back to normal.
