Got by a big bird - how do I remove the stain? (1 Viewer)

In the last 24 hours my motorhome has been 'got' by a bid bird with an upset stomach! I've washed away the deposit but there's a large patch of stain in the bodywork- perhaps 2 inches in diameter.
Any ideas how to remove the stain please?

Damp rag to soak for a few hours followed by some car polish?

nicholsong - I'm assuming that it's gel coat. It's on the back panel of a 2012 A-T Apache

Autoglym Super Resin polish is pretty good at cleaning marks and stains but is very gentle.

I've followed the suggestion from David and Sally and there's a damp cloth over it at present. I think I have some Autoglym Super Resin Polish as suggested by funflair so I'll try rubbing it with that later.
I hope the pigeon is feeling better now as I don't want a repeat performance tomorrow!

I can tell by the dust on those that they have not been used in a while

The Super Resin is a very mildly abrasive polish so will take off a little bit of oxidation that makes the finish look dull and dirty, the extra gloss protection is exactly what it says on the front, it adds a bit of extra protection that the Super Resin lacks.

You could also use a wax like Colonite 476s after the Super Resin has cleaned it but waxing is hard work, well it is on our van anyway, and only small areas at a time, wax on wax off.

I used it to restore the dull roof and rear panel on my Moho. It has a very mild “cutting” action, if that is the correct term. If you rubbed your hand across the panel, it wasn’t smooth, so used this, and now the panel is glass smooth and it’s removed all marks. Then I gave it a couple of coats of wax, and panels are now mirror like.

I’d be inclined to try a clay bar or mit,, or Grunt,,it’s a Marine grade cleaner for gel coat,,that will definitely take it off.

I have had good results with a small amount of WD40,sprayed on and left a few seconds and then rubbed off,worth a try.

Have a look at this website. For all it is marketed for bikes it works superbly on cars. Four-state process; washing and removing tar, apply nano coating, apply wax, apply polish coat. Picture attached is our 2013 Hyundai which has come up a treat. I have used it on my cars for years. After the initial application on my last car using the four processes, I simply washed it when required and applied the polish coat every couple of months. He says the overall process lasts a year. From my experiences thus far, I would tend to agree.
I must declare that I know the guy but, I don't get any freebies. My comments are my honest opinion.

Oxalic acid will probably take the stain out, its in a number of products predominantly for cleaning teak or you can buy it in crystal form at the pharmacy and mix it with some water. You need to leave it on the surface for a bit. Its good for removing rust stains in GRP too. The advantage over cutting polishes is that you are not removing any gelcoat at all.

Oxalic acid worked on my GRP boat. Sometimes the skirts and lower panels are plastic not GRP (lighter). I was surprised when my Knaus needed repairs, the repairer said the skirt was plastic not GRP and could not be repaired. Fortunately CalMac Ferries were paying. If it is plastic the surface is much thinner than GRP gelcoat and needs gentle care, not too much aggressive cutting.

What you need is Best Universal Grit Grime and Effluent Remover. In the words of Fred Wedlock
If Daz don't whiten it,
and OMO don't brighten it,
then BUGGER it.
