We have diesel water and van heating. We anticipate getting a shorter van in the next 2 years or so, as then approaching 80.

On reviewing possible future vans came across the revised/improved/updated Truma Diesel heater. Does anyone have experience of this model and/or have the technical know-how to judge if it is any better/the same/worse than say Webasto or Eberspacher? No Chinese cheapie comparisons please!

We have a PVC and would go for a 5.4 Fiat based PVC.

We have the Truma 6DE fitted to our Rapido. Only had it a couple of months so far has a good heat output and heats up our 7m motorhome quickly. Can be a bit noisy initially ( inside not so much outside) but probably no different to the gas version with the fan blasting out the hot air. Ongoing noise wise the pump can be heard ticking - sounds like someone waking past the van in high heels :giggle: . The sound either disappears or maybe we just get used to it.
Start up current is quite high, up to 10 amps , but only for one or two minutes. After that the fan on full blast takes around 2.5 amps reducing with fan speed.

Also have a compressor fridge so gas usage in minimal.

Thank you - any idea of the chassis conversion timing? David
