[HI]Cost of Insurance is based on the replacement value of the motorhome.[/HI]
If it is new then the cost will be high as most insurers will give you new for old for the first one or two years if the van is new.
Cost goes down over years as value of motorhome decreases.
Be aware some insurers require either an imobiliser - usually fitted on Fiat Ducato (Thatcham 2) - and a van alarm which then makes it a Thatcham 1 standard alarm system.
I am currently with the Caravan Club, they only wanted an imobiliser and not an alarm
(though will be getting one fitted).
Get at least three quotes and in my experience go for items covered and standard of service - not cheapness.
Hope this helps :thumb:

its all a con they up the premiums all the time just greed and we have to pay or get off the roadSorry to disagree Bob, but I was informed that this is not the case. It may well come into the thought process somewhere but a tiny amount.
My 1993 'M' reg VW Trident cost £323, value £10,500
My 2008 / 08 Geist Spirit costs £301 value now £45,000, both with the same insurer.
The risk of theft, likelihood of speeding/driven by young drivers has far more weight to the Premium these companies charge
