My current LV= motorhome premium is £404 which I consider good 😊which is renewable in June so I expect a bit of an increase.

I don't think it was really cheap. Been with LV for a few years now and the increases have always been moderate until this year. Always do comparisons and while some others come close, LV has always come out lowest, and lowest on all three.

I hear that vehicle insurance renewals are generally being quoted at 60% increase, which was what my wife’s car renewal roughly came to before I phoned in, when it magically dropped to around 30%! My LV moho insurance had a modest increase of £35 until I mentioned it in the same phone conversation. It then dropped to £11 cheaper than last year - go figure.

Always worthwhile giving them a call and strongly suggesting you’re going elsewhere.

For the same van as you my Comfort insurance is £434 but but just got a quote for the new van (if it ever arrives) £1000 so I'll be looking at LV.

Found LV very good on claims wife's had 2 written off (both not her fault) LV paid out very quickly with no fuss..as it happened both cars were cat S repaired..1 paid 1/3 red more than it cost us nearly a year before the other 50% more.We and both daughters run cat S ours thanks to LV assessors and 2careless drivers effectively cost us nothing for a2020 car
Still have LV on car,but changed house last year. Actually paid less than LV increase ! Tried them for Moho (selfbuild) they were 3 times what I paid elsewhere

Just seen a video of the couple that turned over their Hymer in Spain it’s on here somewhere as well
Turns out that with LV your fully comp in the UK but aboard your only cover for the minimum amount for law so 3rd party I guess
It’s stated in the very small print on the policy

I’m off to double check myself

I have just read our LV policy. Covered as standard for 180 days in Europe. It only renewed last month.

many many years! since I was a kid
Will ask my sister about this at the weekend. She works for LV and apparently I get her staff discount. Won't be taking it up if not fully comp in Europe. I know it's the case in Morocco and outside the EU but was under the impression it was full cover

The third party cover is if your policy allows you to drive other cars etc. both in the UK and EU our LV allows 180 days EU cover at the same level as UK.

I tried a well know comparison site a few days ago and an agent rang me back, the best he could do with discounts for tracker, alarm and C&MC membership was £499.60. Las year my LV premium was 295.98 so he quoted an increase of around the £200 mark giving me the sob story about costs of everything going up, which I suppose is true to some extent from what I have read .Yesterday I had my renewal letter from LV £317 so an increase of only around £22 on last year. To say I was pleased is an understatement. I phoned them because I have changed my payment method with a different bank card and I mentioned to the chap I spoke to that I was pleased, He said the low increase was because they know me as I have a previous history with them and said that when my car policy e is due, rather than take out a new policy with them (Presently with SAGA) I should include my car with the motorhome to put another vehicle on the existing policy which would give me another 15% discount. Decent result I think.
