Just got my renewal from LV. Bit of a shock. Did a lot of comparisons and went with LV yet again. The LV price for the motorhome includes EU and UK breakdown cover.

Out of interest, at over £1300, Comfort wanted as much for just the motorhome as LV charged for all three vehicles.

I think your MH insurance is cheap compared to what I pay (however I live in a city where insurance is optional)

How many miles does that cover you for? And out of interest what weight is your van seeing as it includes recovery (I use Nationwide - around another 150 pa on top of the 480 I currently pay)

Not sure why you seem cross, premium seems very good value for three vehicles or have I missed something

Edit - I now see the £500 increase, but last years price was insanely cheap for three vehicles

The biggest premium rises appear to be related to the vehicle having a HV Lithium battery.

I am dreading my next renewal quote from LV for the Jazz hybrid.

I think I put down 3000miles for the MH insurance. Its plated at 3850kg

I don't think it was really cheap. Been with LV for a few years now and the increases have always been moderate until this year. Always do comparisons and while some others come close, LV has always come out lowest, and lowest on all three.

Interesting that the motorhome had by far the lowest % gain

That's true, though I don't know whether it is just coincidence, or the fact that the Hymer value has dropped below some threshold high figure.

Out of interest, I have just renewed my car insurance, last year 318, this year same company wanted 458, I have never had a claim in all my motoring life or had a claim against me, over 40 years of driving.

Managed to renew with another company for a shade under 400.

I accept my post code probably shoves another 100 quid on my policy!

Ah - not such a bargain then. I pay £500 with Comfort but I do 10,000 miles a year. That includes breakdown but I shall drop that this year as I have a Nationwide account which will cover all my vehicles.

My wifes car went up from £200 ish to £270 ish last renewal. We a search using GoCampare sand got a quote at just under £200 - with the company we were already with!!!! We didn't renew direct but re insured via Gocompare

Always do comparisons, you even often getting better prices quoted from your existing insurer.

I've been with Comfort some years ago at good rates but they always quote me silly figures now. Obviously there is a factor in my submission that their algorithm doesn't like.

I've done that many times with LV, getting better quotes from the comparison sites but LV now claim to give me the same rate as a new customer would get.

I wouldn't be happy with a 62,5% increase evn if it is 3 vehicles.

That is because one of the others is fully electric & the other a hybrid.

Lifesure seem to be excellent at finding good insurance prices. They halved my bill and the same for a friend recently. Cover through one of the biggest insurers in the world

I assume they are a broker? Do they find better prices than are available on comparison sites?

Living in the same city as you, just renewed today with LV at £314 for 6000 miles per annum. We swapped Nov and weight now 3500 rather than 3850, heavier van was ok for their recovery cover.

Yes to both. They are a brokerage and get much better prices than I could find online with the comparrison sites.

Just a bit of first hand info on LV= with a happy outcome.
I have been with them for four years van and car and although not cheap I have received great service on a claim over the last two weeks.
A week ago last Sunday morning I was driving home past a crossroads in the car and had a car come out and hit me in the drivers side rear door and wheel area causing me to spin and very nearly roll No one injured including dod in his cage in the back😊
LV= were called and they immediately started the claim it turned out to be a no fault claim as other driver accepted full responsibility. I had a hire car delivered a day later and awaited the decision from assessor who informed me on Thursday that the car was a write off due to Fiat parts not being available and the could not say when they would be.
LV= made the decision to write of my beloved little Fiat Panda 4x4 Cross they offered me a very fair price and we started looking and have sourced a suitable replacement. My money has been put in the bank and my replacement car is being delivered tomorrow.
Resulting in my claim settlement being complete in ten days which in my view is excellent service and we are very happy with the outcome of a very stressful week.
well done LV=
