No TV Reception - Help Needed (1 Viewer)

Hi new MH-er, Tuned AVTEX TV twice (EHU) had great reception, now nothing, DVD works. Arial amplifier switched on /off gain half way, full, no change. Tried at 3 new locations no joy. Might the cable be out of tv? 19 plate Auto Trail Imala with TV between front seats. Is there a way to open the back cover to check wires? Any suggestions please.

When we first got our Avtex I moved the tv and must have touched the off switch on back of TV a switch you would never normally use.

Done that switch, TV power is on (DVD works fine) It will search for channels but does not find any (channel 2 through to 61)

Have you got the Ariel tuned to the correct frequency mine has 2 one never picks up. but sometimes I move the switch and cannot remember which one works

Sorry for delay, commute, stil do the 4 letter word. Is there an easy way to remove the back cover of the TV to see the connections?

Non directional ariel, can't change, looks like a plate on a stem on one side.

On sites fine, at home on drive and 3 other "wild" sites since no joy at all.

Just to say that those aerials are next to useless, you need to be close to the transmitter.
That type of aerial should have an amplifier, it hasn’t been accidentally turned off has it?

that should lift up if not leccy one you should have a handle somewhere mines in the wardrobe. Is the tv switching on or dead . I know it sounds daft but is the telly turned onto TV and not set on DVD or something else

I had trouble with mine tuning and found out it was the led screen on main control panel for van .turned that off and TV tuned in nicely .

You have to retune EVERY Time you change location.
Pain in the ass but that's the way it is.

If it’s been working before when you tuned it in, & now when you tune it in it’s not working, it seems like a lead has fallen out, an aerial booster is switched off, or a setting has been changed. Anyone who has a drop down in cab tv know how to access the leads?

That aerial does not lift up.

looks similar to mine it not lifts but tilts bad choice of words dont know if that does the same there are so many gone are the days of sticking a metal coat hanger in the back of the telly

I had one exactly the same, it doesn’t move at all.

Its funny isn't it when I had the van first it was not working for the first 6 months (someone had not turned it on in the wardrobe) never missed it now will turn it on just because ....
sometimes even leave it on when I'm not in the van with the blinds up to give it a lived in feel

Light on (blue) on ariel amplifier in wardrobe, all wires connected there as well. Play 5s and 3s (dominos) Mrs likes soaps , say no more.. Think have to remove back cover on TV but hanging between seats.

Getting no programmes on tuning to me means no aerial connection, as even in a very poor signal area you get one or two channels, even if a poor picture. I agree you will have to get the back off to look at the connections, but can’t help with how to do that!
