The weather looked better than that in Eastbourne today. Mind you it's cold even if sunny (not now of course it's dark)

Quick travel report as to how things have gone..

Located the Lidl store in Algeciras very easy.. It's next to a McDonalds and the Carrefour supermarket so as you travel south on the A7 you cant miss it really with the big signs. Parking at Lidl no issues, we counted over 60 vans in the near area. Overnight is not an issue, road is a bit noisy but for a free stopover its acceptable.
The ticket office of "Carlos" is attached to the Lidl so you cant fail to find it. The girl in there very helpful and completes the required paperwork for you vehicle, you need to take your V5 and as well as your tickets you get the immigration forms in the travel pack.
Their old office is still open in the original location.
Travel to the port is less than 15 mins away and well signed once you get back on the A7 road.
Once at your port you hand in the "voucher" supplied by Carlos and get the proper outbound and return ferry tickets. Then wait in line to board the ferry. We went on a newish boat where you drive in and turn around inside.
Crossing went to the new port of Tangier Med.
You complete an immigration form and get your passport stamped on the boat.
At Tangier the customs is a bit all over the place and had changed since the last time others had been. So I wont go into detail but it was frustrating but not complicated. Once though there was a parking area and portacabins where you can exchange cash to local currency of Dirhams. They will take Euros and Sterling.
From the port you are straight ono a toll motorway and can make the coast at Assilah in just over an hour. Cost was 65dh. about £5.. First fuel stop was 20km from the port.

Now all settled in for the night and will make plans what to do tomorrow..:thumb:

Funsters reach Casablanca (almost).
rainy up t'north so headed down and now pitched about 25km north of Casablanca. 8 vans on site, other 3 may be arriving later unless they change plans..
Interesting drive down the toll rd where it seems the norm for people to walk up and down or even across the motorway. Even had 1 chap who was riding his bike towards us on the hard shoulder !!

Mohammedia, Morocco

Camping Mimosa (our 1st choice) near Mohammedia - parked up then we decided wild camping on the motor way would be a vast improvement. Now parked at 'Ocean Bleu' facilities are better - 80 Dr per day elec and Funster entertainment included.

There is also 'Camping Said' nearer to the town with only 23 plots which was full - the French got there first.

Its been raining again today 18c but the sun is coming out now.

Bryandh & Gaudi (Gordon) are pitched up at Sale a gorgeous tranquil location just north of Rabat, with just enough room for 4 vans and at the moment there are only three, including ours, so virtually have the place to ourselves. Stretching before us 15K of glorious unspoiled sand...... we made a great (lucky) choice picking this place out of the Camping Morocco book.

Last night (17/1) lack of water meant we headed for Kenitra about 190Km south of Asilah and although more than a little muddy it was a good stopover and met our immediate needs in respect of black/grey water etc., and at 68Dh it did not break the bank.

Tomorrow, we are heading into Rabat by taxi (300Dh) round trip for 3 passengers and on arrival will just be doing the tourist thingy, expect to overnight again at present site and kick off south Sunday morning....... heading, who knows where:ROFLMAO:

Did Malcolm Bolt catch up with the rest of the group and is he feeling better ?

Best regards, from a sunnier and much warmer Morocco. Bryan

For us the Morocan roads were an adventure every day.

If the photo's come up. look at the bricks holding the digger on the lorry, we pulled up and let him go did not seem to safe.

Eventually you stop wondering how they got the animals up thers.

Look for the baby goats in the bag.

Looking forward to seeing the unusual pictures you all come across.

Saturday morning, day 4 in Morocco..
Been a very windy and rainy night as forecasted, last evening was a pleasent get together with music, chat and LIGHT drinks.

Plans today to move a short way down the coast to El Jadida, south of Casablanca. Should hold a bit more interest as it has a nearby town and shops..

A huge storm throughout the night, which left us virtually sleepless, followed by torrential rain this morning knocked our plans for a trip to Rabat into touch and so we are heading off instead to Mohamedia further south. Hope we outrun the awful weather we have had so far.

If it was me I would be heading south of Agadir, the 14 day forecast is sun and more sun. Do the other places on your list on the way back. Hope the weather changes for you soon regardless of where you are :thumb:
