MHF App Now working well on iPhone and iPad (1 Viewer)

With the latest iOS updates, Apple have fixed some things that were stopping progressive web apps from working properly. Suffice to say you can now add MotorhomeFun to your phone or iPad as an app and you will receive notifications just like any other app on your phone. When you open the app, you won't be in a browser window, you will be in a dedicated MHF application.

The notifications are not important for those who spend a lot of time on the forum, but if you are just dipping in and out, then notifications that let you know when a post of yours has been liked, or if your thread has been answered, can prove to be very useful.

It's easy to install the app on your phone or iPad. The first thing you want to do is delete the old one if you have it installed. Do that by the long press and then getting rid of it just like you would any other application, then using safari go to MotorhomeFun and choose to share.

It looks like this, on an iPhone and iPad at the top or bottom of the page.

Then scroll down and choose Add to Home screen

The app will appear on your homepage. Click it and you'll be in the app. You'll need to login again, once you're logged in you'll be asked if you want to receive push notifications. Check that, and MotorhomeFun will work like any app on your phone. You'll also be able to adjust the notifications in your regular notifications settings.

Give it a go. I've been using a few days now and found it pretty good.

Made the change Jim, but find it stutters a bit when opening new comments list, over the thread.
And also when trying to go back after viewing new comments list.

Jim have just had to delete the app and redo the process as I clicked on a link in the rRWC thread which came up as normal but there was absolutely no way to go back to the main app.

Remember you are not in a browser, you are in an app so there is no browser back button. But look out for an arrow bottom left, when ever you stop in a thread to read a post the arrow appears to take you back

iPhone 12 on latest iOS - inside the app I don't see adverts. click on the menu three lines and select say Home and it opens a browser page with adverts, after browsing click done or use the back arrow and it comes back to the app

Try it on different content? Some web pages are a bit noughts and won’t let you go back.

Same thing happened again for me but got away with switching the phone off and back on

I was about to ask is there a back button. The arrow at the bottom works perfect,cheers

No back button and if you just close the app when it reopens it is the same page

Yep exactly the same issue on a photo attachment. I had to power off the phone to get back to normal mode

Not experienced that yet, if I open an attachment I have the same back arrow at the bottom, or I can hit the cross top right to close it, if the cross isn't there touch the screen again

Try the attachment in this part of the thread Jim , see what you get s each time I open it I’m frozen too it
