No kidneys were harmed in the obtaining of my latest insurance.
HOWEVER!!! It did cost me an arm and a leg but, thanks to Viagra, I am still able to type this message.

I just want to make sure EVERYONE has the image of you typing under the influence of VIAGRA firmly fixed in their minds as we enter the new year

Expect a rise, I’ve been with comfort for the last 4 years and every year it goes up by at LEAST £80 no claims or convictions

Despite now being in my mid-seventies over the last three years the increase in my renewals, with Comfort, were …Zero, £24 and £40. I was very happy to see only £40 this year as, on checking around, some quotes were over £200 more.

On one occasion, when insured by a different Company, I changed motorhomes mid-year to a different one of similar value. On ringing them to notify the change they quoted me over£1k to make the change on a £300 policy. Needless to say I cancelled and went elsewhere. That cost me an extra £78 on top of my original policy cost.

They were very specific that it was 18 days no doubt someone has worked out that is the optimal time to make you accept their quote without the hassle of shopping around for better ,we shall see

Dont wait for them, do some homework now and you will know if their renewal is ok straight away. Then you can either haggle with them or go elsewhete instantly and make sure the policy does not auto renew.

I spoke with comfort last Friday, they would not give a quote because they are having a price increase in the 1st of Feb
I carried on and on and on for a quote, eventually they did provide me with one, and it's fixed for 30 days,

Caravan Guard £ 883.45 with £600 excess ,12,000 miles

Comfort (who I’m with) £751.32 ,£200 excess, 25,000 miles

thats an increase of £120 over last year but as I’ve had TWO!!! A class windscreens (one a year! I like to live dangerously ) off them is only fair I give them a chance to recoup some of their loss

Just had our comfort renewal quote including eu recovery up £90 on last year.
All other sensible quotes received are within £20. Had one quote double the comfort quote.

I was wishful thinking that I might get away with 10% but it came 22%. So I guess I’ll go with that. The dearest quote I had was £550 more Than the comfort quote.

How much before your renewal time can you expect to get a quote from your insurance provider ,my renewal is due in two months and with all the negative stories I’m dreading its arrival. Is it normally around four weeks or more/less ,I’m with Comfort and in the middle of a windscreen claim.

3 weeks is the sweet spot. How you getting on, as I saved £200 on last year's 1st year quote with Caravan Guard, they wanted £1,926 as I had a bump day before collecting new, then a mirror clash since 3rd party claimed 50% for their mirror

LV have me baffled. We have been with them for three years now and we simply cannot fault them. Multicar (2 x reasonable cars and a new Hymer A-Class) last year was just under £1k. This year £1.3k. After bobnick post earlier, I am going to re-check if they have a top value limit of £100k.

Remember Hugo Bertie is a classic car. Normal cars/MHomes etc etc i don't know. I would have been happy to continue with them. In fact i think i have a car with them even now.

Yes, I can see Bertie in your avatar. A very handsome chap! My friend had a primrose, hard top, with a black interior, and wire wheels. It was, from memory, a V8 produced for the American market. It was LHD. He reckoned it was quite rare. I am sure yours turns a few heads on the road when it is out. Do you show it?

We do go to shows but keep ourselves to ourselves. We don't enter any of the classifications things.
A V8 is very unusual Normally straight 6 or V12. Mines a V12.

Yes, that is ehat I always thought. I think I am correct that his was a V8 for America.

Just got renew quote for our Audi TT. Going up by £70. I'm going to let it renew at that. Said in my head if it was more than £100 i would shop around but now no hassle.
See what the next one brings.

I've noticed of recent times that Pol renewals seem to come between a 15-20 days before due date. It used to be longer but I'm wondering they are trying to give you less time to shop around.

That could be the case but there is no reason why you can't start shopping before it arrives.
I've had fun this morning .letter from insurer to say they have taken money from my card.
Paid theonsurance beginning of the week with someone else.
Called them ready for a fight but no. Guy on phone was OK sent email to say cancelled and refunded account

Of course it will take 3/4 days to show back in the account

Good to know they will give a quote 30 days in advance, I thought it would be 21. I must phone next week. We’d been with them for years but had to go to NFU last year as we needed cover for Turkey. Then of course had to get separate breakdown cover. We want to go back to Comfort really. Only had a windscreen 4 years ago and that was a PVC so fingers crossed.

Received my Comfort renewal invitation via email this morning, £80 up on last year, so I'm happy to stick with Comfort. Policy renews first week of May.

Likewise Comfort renewal quote up about £80. Still half the price of any other quote. I've never seen such differences in quotes.

Camping & Caravan Club quotes started at £900. Will just renew.

Years ago I used the AA for car insurance and brakedown cover. the insurance renewal arrived the week before it expired so you had little time to shop around and very likely just renewed it, but they were ringing and badgering me to renew the brakedown cover up to two months before,

You don't have to know what your renewal quote is to start looking.
Depending on you preferred method, internet,phone,door-to-door you'll need to allow more time, but I aim to
have several quotes ready for when the renewal arrives.
Maybe just look at comparison site now to test the waters if significant increase then you know to start early if you
choose sneakernet options.
