Tried to change the heating settings but the app has gone down, hopefully back up soon. Hive will work without the app but it has to be adjusted manually

I'll try it, I started to get cold because even though my rads were on the heat on demand function needs the app to work

Wish I'd ********* known that a couple of hours ago. Oil Boiler service so shut off supply to Hive relay interface. Service over please put on the heating, "Hive app "oops we have a problem" did a manual override.
Bit later factory reset everything as Thermostat & Hub said re-connecting.
Hive says I can't read a 3 letter 3 number code.
Hive website no issues, welcome phone message says yep we have a problem. After 30 mins gave up trying to find out if and when the problem would be fixed.

Had to fight tooth an nail a couple of years back for a refund on Hive not so smart radiator valves. Had to roll a six to see if it opened or closed on schedule.


If it wasn't for the convenience of being able to switch the heating on before coming home from a trip or say baby sitting not sure I'd be happy trusting it to keep the house frost free in winter on an extended trip.

Rant over, other than 15m on hold listening to rubbish oh and to save batteries the rad valve can take 15mins to respond to a request for heat??????? really!

We were getting error messages earlier, then it seemed to be ok for a while but is now back to the twirling busy icon.

On mine the door sensors show up immediately on the app the heating and water take a bit longer to appear then normal but it's working.

The app was not working so I deleted it and reinstalled it, now I'm locked out of everything. Because the website is indicating all up and running I called the helpline, on hold for 26 minutes to be told the app is still down. I will have to remember to put the heating on in the bedrooms later or I'll be on trouble

I wish I had read this thread sooner. I also unplugged it and I also deleted and reinstalled the app and now it won’t recognise my hub.

My app is back on my iPad. I had to cancel and relaunch the one on my iPhone to get it fully operational.

Should be ok. The thermostat communicates directly with the boiler so the engineer ought to be able to get your new boiler launched even if the app is playing up. My apps have been behaving ok for the last few minutes.

I can login on the computer but although it shows all the rads only the main thermostat is working. I've put the main thermostat on boost and adjusted the rads as I need them

My Hive app isn't loading which is a PITA as heating has been off (frost control) whilst away and I wanted to switch it to normal schedule for when I get home.

The info on the hive site says voice control should still work but when I tried it Alexa told me it was set bit the temperature setting didn't change on the rad

I can login at the website but it only gives access to the main thermostat, the rads are shown but not working. Lucky with the hive system it will work by adjusting the valve manually, so we are not without heat.

I’m close to getting one of these before we go away to Spain. Now I’m nervous. Technology, sometimes wander if I just leave it set to come on everyday for a bit less time and set to say 15c!

If the app goes down the system will work as a standard heating control without it, unless like me you have the smart radiator valves as well

Got ours fitted yesterday. But our hot water tank is in the loft and we will be away over February so want to be sure it’s frost protected. If we use holiday mode will the hot water tank get heated if the temperature drops below the target temperature?

no it's best to put the hot water on for half an hour at midnight, or you can monitor the temperature and switch it on boost from where you are as long as you have the internet
