When I lived in a caravan in Cumbria, the LCD display on the alrm clock would freeze everynight. I had to take it to bed with me to keep it warm, honest :Eek!:

I would think that the problem is bringing it ---really cold---into the warm, moist air and getting condensation on the sensitive inside electrics ? ? ? ? ? ?
