Tesco use a private company.it is a charge not a fine.it is up to the private company to try to get you to pay.and unless they can prove you blocked access,or stayed over your time.they don't stand a chance.so don't pay.do not contact.the company.

irrespective.. if a court order for payment of a debt is made against you it can affect your credit rating for several years.

The ones who capture the County Court Judgements are the Registry Trust http://www.trustonline.org.uk/faqs-help
They then sell on the data to the Credit Reference Agencies. As I said in the TV licensing thread the data can and will affect your ability not only to borrow money, but also obtain services and insurance and lastly may affect your ability to get a job.

I know that if you apply for a job in any of the Financial services, at all levels they will undertake a CRA check.
Judgement data can stay on your file for 6 years..

Hi my wife did the same parked outside of lines, had a letter saying pay
£60 within whatever time or it would go up to £100 never paid and not
heard any more.
Its nothing to do with tesco and its not even tesco's land

Or if you decide to pay up, at least have a bit of fun with them

Send a cheque and 'forget to sign it.

When the return it send a replacement but for the wrong amount.. Say an extra 75p

Wait until they cash it and then contact them and ask for a refund of the 75p

All the crap it causes the sods is well worth the the lolly !!
