I used the little Florabest I bought last year from LIDL last evening and the more I use it the more I like it.
Quite like having the option of gas in the Cadac Safari or the occasional smoke us out job!

If the Florabest comes up at LIDL again at £39 (I think it was) I would certainly recommend it!

I bought one and thought it was cr@p from the word go.
Given away to a tenter, bought a Cadac

An emphatic .. Yes.. provided we are talking about a proper gas barbie, like the Weber Q, and not a gas griddle .. which is just a glorified frying pan.

the flavour comes form the smoke and steam produced by the meat juices falling onto the flavour bar which is on top of the gas burner.. just the same as charcoal grill..

the charcoal plays no part in flavouring the food.. unless you drop the meat onto accidentally it and don't tell anyone..:LOL:

If it didn't I wouldn't be singing it's praises..

I use a Weber kettle charcoal barbie when I do a smoked brisket to make pastrami, but that's a different process.. see other thread.. or occasionally beer-can chicken.. google it.
