Suggestions please for cleaning yellowing sink in the bathroom? Tried scrubbing with jiff & made no difference at all :Eeek:

Wife Ruined ( not me ) the white work of our second caravan by using Jiff... Never again even she would rather see it dirty than the mess Jiff made

Seen videos for hair salon developer cream left under uv light, might be worth checking out?

The plastic is degrading when it goes yellow. The only answer is paint or replace

I use chine shine on the boat. Its a grp hull so I think it would be ok on your sink.

Works exactly as in the video. I don't know what the ingredients are but its likely to be oxalic acid.

Also Y10 from yacht chandlers is used for yellowing hulls.

if you use bleach products on it, the plastic starts to crumble

Hmmm, I've had yachts for 25 years & always used bleach on kitchen & (heads) bathrooms without any problems!

sadly the plastics used in motorhomes and caravans is super lightweight and not of the same quality in yachts

Use bleach if you wish, it is your property after all, just offering advice from experience

+1 for Oxalic acid. Worth trying, does a great job of lifting yellowing stains on boat hulls. A bit of fine cutting paste might also help in stubborn areas.

I have recently cracked the rear nearside bumper on our Carthago, not entirely my fault Guv, hidden 10 inch metal post hidden in long grass on roadside verge, also bloody long rear overhang.
Anyway what was also a discovery/disappointment was just how thin the GRP bumper is, we are talking eggshell thickness!
I am too peed off and angry about sorting out a fix, especially in this weather, but as The Big 1 says, GRP on MH's especially basins/sinks, and now, as I have found also rear bumpers are very delicate, all for the sake of weight they tell us.
I know it all adds up, but surely a couple more layers of glass on bumpers & sinks Please!
On a similar vein.
I retrieved a hardly used house/room dehumidifier to dry a out a room at home, it was stored semi covered down the shed, not much UV light on it.
Well when I carried the heavy thing up the garden I was surprised to see the half that was covered by a dust sheet was pure white, the other half looks like someone's blown fag smoke over it for the last decade. Nothing, not even neat bleach, left for hours will touch it, surprises me to see so many home items that have no UV protection, even light switches and kitchen appliances like mixers & blenders.
Worst part is you cannot tell by looking at anything plastic whether it has any UV protection, unless its stated on a label somewhere.

Removed my Rapido sink, used a light abrasive paper applied to make a key to the surface then spray painted.. Companies that make plastic spray paint include Krylon, Valspar, and Rustoleum.
Did want to photo record the event but unfortunatley did not.

Wife removes stains from sink using Milton liquid.
Leave to soak for an hour and stains gone.
Safe for babies bottles

Update: Went out & bought a small bottle of ``hydrogen peroxide hair gel, brushed it on, applied cling film securely to keep air out, left in full sun, 24 hours later = bright white plastic! :coolest:

Thetford Bathroom Cleaner is a very good product. If it's beyond cleaning some dealers spray them white again with the cracked shower tray paint.

So it does work

Any before and after photos?
