We have just had to rebook our yearly water ingress check it was booked with Lowdhams for the end of May but with Covid was cancelled (they allow 6 months lee way)
So now booked September the strange thing now is the van has to be dropped off 72hours prior to check then stand a further 72 hours before collection, how things have changed ☹️
On the plus side the price has come down considerably to £90 🙂

So a habitation check at Lowdhams means your motorhome is off the road for effectively a week. I think they are being too cautious, using their thinking car servicing will also mean a car off the road for a week. Is £90 their hourly rate ?

Premier in Chichester will not accept a van for damp check that has been slept in during the previous 24 hours.
Mine is booked in at beginning of July with them and I was not asked this.

Ours was cancelled with our Belgium dealer in March waiting to hear from them.
We normally go over the afternoon before, spend the night there and get done in the morning. Better check what they are doing before booking anything.

Ours was booked in with Becks mid May and they have now rescheduled for August but no mention of 72hrs before/after.

They did say there may be a problem with the usual courtesy car so we shall take our own toad.

I had our V Line in for it’s 2nd year hab check on Tuesday at West Country Motorhomes. Their service/ warrantee manager came out with gloves on and asked if I would leave the key in the ignition. He took the van straight to the workshop.
I had taken a folding lounger seat with me, a flask of hot water for coffees and a book. Luckily it was nice and sunny so I sat and waited with an occasional chat to their sales guys.
When the van was ready to I was told they had resanitized it and was directed how to pay and collect the hab check papers which was all completed effortlessly.
I had also managed to get the Fiat Professional dealer ( Hutton’s ) to arrange the ‘ brake pipe ‘ recall for the same day. I reported to reception and was told to open the bonnet and go sit in the van. After a few minutes a technician came out with a torch, spent, maybe 15 seconds with his head under the bonnet and then said all was OK and just needed the mileage.
In both establishments I felt very comfortable with the way the safety to myself and their staff were dealt with.

This was last week. We always stay at Wicks Farm the night before and after, but not an option, I spoke to Maurice Gardner who tried to help but explained they were the rules they were having to work to.
