Hi all , having just read about some funsters getting away in MH for Xmas day it has really got me thinking that We would LOVE to do the same. We would really appreciate any ideas of where is good to go. We live in Leeds so within 60/70 miles also it will be Just me n him so would like to be somewhere with abit going off ie a pub other campers etc. thanking all in advance 👍

Wonderful excuse to avoid the family but we can't get in anywhere.

It will depend on the weather hoping to volunteer Christmas day if covid free, then if it is that lovely crisp dry weather I am off either to the sea or the mountains

Possibly a bit far but I’ve stayed at the CMC site at Southport for a couple of Christmas’s and had a great time. Close to the prom and town and pubs/supermarket/park all close by.

Head south towards Norfolk, we spent a great xmas week near Cley Marshes, the weather was clear and we enjoyed some good walking trips

If you are going to stay on a site then I would just start randomly ringing sites everywhere because I think the decision of where to go will be governed by who has any space, most places have xmas booked up months ago

Absolutely not for me. I'd hate it.
I've no reason to leave my peaceful rural location, the cosy pine aroma of the tree in the lounge when I come downstairs for my first brew, frost on the lawn, a wave to the distant neighbours, remembering to take the trifle out of the fridge.........
I love spending time with my family at Christmas and anniversaries with the bustling chaos and chat upon their arrival, coats and shoes everywhere, juggling parcels and finding space for food contributions, then a raucous lunch and the banter of a washing up production line of seasonal crockery that's been unused at the back of a cupboard for a year. Seeking out the dog who has sneaked away under the spare bed for a bit of peace and quiet before we all go out for a stroll over the crisp fields. Bliss.

We spent last Christmas at poverty cottage cl in whitby. 30 minutes walk into the town and 5 minutes walk to the coastal path. Fantastic place

On Ilkley Moor? I have a photo of me and a young lady sitting on the tailgate of my Landy sipping champagne and eating strawberries. Great views. It wasn't in the depths of winter though!

6 adults, 4 kids under 8, 3 dogs……one being a retired military dog (saw action in Afghanistan).

Our house goes from orderly to total chaos in minutes……love it.

Tapas this year, all doing different dishes. :giggle:

Anybody in the south west (Dorset,Somerset,Devon,Cornwall) having Christmas away in their van?

Colyboy
