Long time!
When travelling abroad with your dog do you take your own worming tablets with you or do you use the ones the Vet abroad gives??

We take our own drontal+. The dosage is half a tablet per 5kg dog bodyweight

I take my own purely because my dog is on a VIP plan at our vets and the cost of which includes the tablets.

We take our own , vet supplied , chewable , dog loves them , otherwise she won't eat or swallow them

Take our own, mind you she does work for a Vet!

Take our own Drontal bought online.

I was under the impression that you had to get a vet to prescribe a worming tablet and also sign the pets passport no later than 5 days before returning back to the UK.
Do the above comments mean I have been paying a French vet when there is no requirement ?

You still need to get the vet to administer the tablet and stamp your passport. But i take my own tablets with me.

We buy our own on-line as it usually works out a lot cheaper than getting them from our own UK vet or from a foreign vet.

Shop around though as the tablets tend to be roughly the same cost but the postage can vary a lot.

Ok thanks for that will get some before we go :giggle:

Within what time frame must you take the dog to the vets prior to re entry to the UK , and apart from the Vet giving the dog a worming tablet , does the vet have to fill out the pet passport or issue you a letter ?
