wire out from solar panel controller

Is it safe to pop a Wire back in that's come out of our controller for our solar panel without taking a fuse out.
I can't find the fuse for the controller. We didn't put it in and we have no info on it. Thanks

cover the panel with a dark cloth and you should be ok, or to be sure use cover then disconnect at battery, then refit wire,
