On the M1 just passed an Ace motorhome driver happily texting as he drove along.
for a change am in the passenger seat don’t want you thinking I am doing the same;)

I've lost count of the number of people i've seen doing that, including lorry drivers, you'd think if your job depended on your licence you'd be extra careful.

We can spot them from behind because of them veering onto white lines, fortunately most do it onto the hard shoulder.

As I do not trust them not to veer into my lane if overtaking I hang well back(100m) and do not try to overtake till they have settled down for 2 mins.

Recently in Germany I had to stay behind one 44-tonner for about 15km. We were sure his text was not that long, so started to surmise he was tired - or drunk. Fortunately he pulled into Services. Relief. MHs are not designed to play dodgems with 44 ton trucks.

Hang on, just got to reply. Will answer at next services.

We had a 3rd party crash into the rear of our car whilst we were driving along a motorway at 70mph.

She was texting at the time and did not see us :(

I do wish the police would take these laws seriously and prosecute a few more than they do.

Agreed. On Friday, on way to Eurotunnel Calais we had to pull in to take a call from my daughter. A driver she suspected was texting (or under the influence) drove into her when he decided he wanted to leave the roundabout at an earlier exit. She’s 21, first car, first accident ... luckily she’s not hurt, just shocked, and another driver witnessed the whole thing and stopped and helped her get all the details etc.

As we were driving up the M6 (ghastly) on Friday night a car in the third lane decided he wanted to come off at the exit we were approaching so veered across the path of the mini in the second lane and us in the inside lane to end up on the hatches ... luckily Tim and mini driver had wits about them and braked pretty heavily to avoid a pile up.

Why are people such idiots?

Yes or they overtake at speed pull in & start coming back to you = the phone has rung.

If I see this I find a prolonged blast on the horn often draws their attention away from the phone and towards my extended middle finger.
