I have been Looking for a CS Amigo or similar for a long time.

We don't seem to build anything like this. All the Mercedes seem to be longer wheelbases. That and so many people obsessed with VW T4/5/6 Transporters.

That's truly nasty.

I assume that if converters thought. there was a market they would do something similar. You can always have a bespoke job, which would probably be no more expensive

Wissel would come up with similar I'm sure if you commissioned him?
Funnily enough, I'm building a MWB next month. Maybe two.

First is a Ducato with a fixed rear bed, second a Movano with rear lounge.

Here's the Ducato layout:

The VW T4/5/6 are iconic compact and great vehicles to own drive and use, can park them in a normal parking bay, that is why people are obsessed with them

I’ve had two from brand new. I would probably never touch one again.

2004 T5 window van
2005 T5 window van

They spent a large proportion of their time at the VW garage.

As have many of the people I had recommended them to.

Whilst not without there problems. A mercedes Sprinter is a far better option. In my humble opinion .

I've had four T5 & T6s from new plus a T4 and never had any serious problems with any of them, been running VW campers since the 1970s and always been happy with them. My others from the list below were second-hand when I bought them.

I'm now waiting for a MAN TGE to be delivered then off to Atlas Sport Homes to be built to my spec.

There are plenty of converters converting the new VW Crafter (or MAN TGE) here in the UK, the only problem is getting a new base vehicle to convert! IH offer versions on the MWB platform at 6m length or the LWB at 6.8m.
Or perhaps the Knaus Boxdrive from Germany.

You bought the wrong models, I started with a petrol Splitter in the late 60's (never again) and quickly moved on to Diesel TD T25's, fixable, reliable and do 40mpg.
The latest one I have had since mid 90's is a LHD (not RHD conversions) Westfalia California, all the above with better habitation bells & whistles and, because these were all built to German Army spec. the 4x4 Synchro with outclimb even a Range Rover.

PS. While I like the comforts of the Murvi, the 'Westy' will be the last to go!

Our t5.1 (2012) has been perfect over the 5 years since we brought it and still worth as much a when we brought it.
Not needed anything other than discs and pads and a new battery prob because the original was fried by the removed tail lift and ankle killing step...

2 x T5 Kombi's no problem 1 x T6 Kombi no issues, one was a conversion and the conversion was pants constantly things falling failing or flaking off. IF VW Transporters were really that bad they would not have the reputation or popularity they have.

Sorry to hear you have had bad experiences

A couple of them are very similar to the original Hymer Exsis vans.

I suppose they are like Range Rover owners. They love them so much, those with problems will just keep ploughing money into them.

A friend of mine bought a nearly new T5 LWB. Kombi. I suggested it was a bad idea.

It’s had

New injectors
New Turbo
New dual mass fly wheel

It’s recently broken down again and been off the road for weeks. I’m not sure of the exact issue this time. But when he got it back, there was an oil leak so back into the garage.

I’m sure repairs now stand him at £7,000. I’ll ask him on Tuesday
