On our way to Stranraer we have stopped at Tebay service station on the M6 waiting for the storm to pass. £18 per night with a refund of £3 food voucher parked up in a nice little corner, got loos and showers, nice food. The weather is terrible here with driving rain and gusts of wind - couldn’t face going any further although surposed to be going into much better weather tomorrow when we will resume our travels.

Can be a bit wild at times as you start to climb up to Shap Summit.
As motorway services go you are probably on the nicest on the UK motorway network. The farm shop has some nice food for sale there.
This is presuming of course you are on the Westmoreland services and not the jct 38 services at Tebay village.

The Westmoreland Services used to have their own Caravan Park as you enter on the northbound side.... is that where you are?

If we had been at home, you could have come another 20 miles north and stayed at our place off jct 41 at Penrith.

Safe onward trip tomorrow.

If it's any consolation we are north of Valencia and there are 50 km winds and 50-60 mm rain forecast for the start of next week

Hi - yes Westmorelands - very pretty for a service station.

Thank you for that - we were going to look for somewhere near Penrith or Carlisle but pulled in here as it sounded nice.

No I think the camp site is actually closed now but they directed me to a very quiet parking area away from the lorries instead

Hope it doesn’t get too hairy for you this weekend

You sure its not what you've eaten and you are farting too much  Not too windy near Glasgow.

Could be:LOL:!

No it is definitely blowing up a right gale here and it’s not me, hubby and the dogs - although they do need to go for a walk and are hiding under the table listening to the wind and rain.

Can you throw a sheet or something over the table. My dog loved a den if he was frightened.

Been a bit rough here in Cornwall today, High winds early on, then heavy showers. From about 11.00 the wind quietened and just rain again, showers, calm at the mo tho.

A passenger Train had it's windows smashed by a wave on the Dawlish bit of the track. The usual trees down and fences blown over, Saturday tho is said to be good, sun etc.

Where you heading to Dawn? You off house hunting?\

Unfortunately, like many camp sites, that one closes for the winter.

It’s a shame as it is quite nice although pricey.

Yeap - got a few booking for the weekend - mainly round Leswait but also Wigtown and Kirkcolm. We really like around Portpatrick area too and may explore Girvan and Ayr.

Stopping at one of the very few opened camp sites at Stranraer (we have the toad)

Looking forward to it
