Dragging this back to routers, what’s needed on the specification shopping list, aside from the power source requirements? I’m a complete layman with routers…

I've lost track of who's using what but looking at the faq's on the boondocks dualie website it recommends using a 48v router which so far, to me, seems the the proverbial rocking horse do doo!Dragging this back to routers, what’s needed on the specification shopping list, aside from the power source requirements? From the boondocker faq's
What router should I use?
Our recommendation is a 48v PoE 802.3af/at router so you can power it with the Dualie, however any router will work if you power it externally.
I had the same issue. Tried a number of IT distributors who all said they had never heard of a 48v router. From the boondocker faq's

that's very expensive but a choice none the lessAhh, here it is, not cheap though ...
Starlink 12v
Mikrotik routers are not for the faint hearted as from my experience they require a lot of technical knowledge to get them working, not really for home users unless they have changed that of course. That device looks pretty sleek though so would be good to know how its working if someone has one.I had the same issue. Tried a number of IT distributors who all said they had never heard of a 48v router.
I emailed boondocker and eventually got a reply saying they had tested this one.

wAP ac | MikroTik
wAP ac – a small dual-band weatherproof wireless access point for mounting on a pole, wall, or the ceiling. The new revision features 2x Gigabit Ethernet ports, enhanced wireless antenna performance, more RAM, and a powerful quad-core CPU!mikrotik.com
That seems to be the challenge. Just found one that ticked all the boxes until I read some reviews and it needs at least 20w from USBC to fire up, 18w wouldn't even power it up.relatively low power consumption
that's a lot from USB-C just for a router, most of the TP Link routers are 12v and will work and most have really good reviews. I would go at least WIFI 6 on theseThat seems to be the challenge. It has dual power inputs, dc jack and poe.The mikrotik wap ac uses a 24v power supply (included in the box) which doesnt match then boondocker recommendation
def will work just not at 48v as boondocker are recommending, not sure why they say you need a 48v router when they recommend a 24v router. It has dual power inputs, dc jack and poe.
Poe is 18-57v, Dc input 10-57v, which would work - as far as I can tell?
I must be missing something? Poe is 48v as far as I'm aware - power from POE input or via the 48v spare output?def will work just not at 48v as boondocker are recommending, not sure why they say you need a 48v router when they recommend a 24v router.
Boondocker said that the mikrotik wap ac was 48v when in fact mikrotik supply a 24v power lead, there are many routers that except multiple v ranges like teltonika etc but none that I am aware that are specifically 48v. Or it could be that I am getting confused as it would not be the first timeI must be missing something? Poe is 48v as far as I'm aware - power from POE input or via the 48v spare output?
I'm totally confused. I'm just going to wait until someone comes up with one that works well and is miserly with its power usage which was the whole point of the threadBoondocker said that the mikrotik wap ac was 48v when in fact mikrotik supply a 24v power lead, there are many routers that except multiple v ranges like teltonika etc but none that I am aware that are specifically 48v. Good deal, can't see where it says about power consumption as that seems a lot for such a tiny deviceAnyone come up with anything good?
Black Friday is upon us, the best looking thing, apart from it's 20w USB C power consumption, I've found is this and it now has £25 off.
