Hi. Bit of a minefield with the choice of a good thief proof wheel lock / clamp. Any ideas please as not sure what to buy. Many thanks Jo

From my earlier post

My son recommends Nemisis ultra. He said that he hates them as it can take 5 of his top quality drill bits to get them off when people lose their key.
He is a master locksmith works on safes for the police he lives in Weymouth if you need him

This thread has just reminded me to ask about locking wheel nuts - why are they not fitted to my new, very expensive, alloy wheels and tyres?

Because the manifacturers don't care of they are stolen after they have sold it to you & they know you will buy some at an inflated price

I brought a set of locking wheel nuts from Adams Morey I think they were around £45

I think a lot of the tyre places now have sockets they can get the locking wheel nuts off with if you can't find the key so no doubt the theives will have them too.

Wheel clamps can normally be removed within less than a minute using a battery powered hand grinder sold by the likes of Aldi for less than £49.00. Better spending the money on a Growler alarm and they will clear off when that goes off, with a tracker fitted in case they are mut and jeff.

Recently bought a new motor home. Have never had one before so did quite a bit of research. When it came to the wheel lock I didn't do quite so well there. I bought a Nemesis Ultra. It had a glowing report. Bought it online at £100+. Tried to fit it and it wouldn't fit on my Fiat Ducato based Pilote. Called Nemesis and they told me that it isn't suitable for motorhomes. It's only for caravans or trailers. Seller wouldn't take it back as it had been "used". It's now sat in my garage, I'll try and sell it on a site/rally next year.
Having briefly worked once for a security company I learned that just about any security equipment could be beaten. The thing is to have visible security, the more the better, then the thief will give you a miss and look for an easier target. The two main enemies of thieves are light and noise.
