What is this?

Good morning all. There are a couple of things in our new van that we don’t know what they are for. Here is the first - This is a rail on the roof on the offside and I have no idea what it is for. Any ideas? We have a B544 Hymer. Many thanks!

Just a thought, is your rear door positioned beneath it, if it is i would say its to stop rain water dripping on you as you go in and out.

Almost certainly to stop water running off the roof and over the door.

Aha! It is positioned over the near side cab door ( which of course would be the drivers door normally as it is a hymer). Many thanks Andy1954 and Clarky.
