We have a Bip and Drive toll tag for Spain and Portugal. Worked OK in Spain and we could hear the (few) beeps

We have now entered Portugal on the A22 and there is nothing at all. No beeps from the overhead gantry and all the prices on the signs have been removed. Have they removed the tolls and if so is it the same for all the other toll roads?

Tolls are still there, not all tags sound in Portugal (our Emovis didn’t) a week later the trips started showing up on our account.

Hope this helps

I have had the same issue and panic last week. No beeps on the overhead gantries, we passed 3. No beeps on entry to the via Verde lanes but the price showed on exit. Apparently it never beeps on entry to the Via Verde lanes To early to show in my Fulli account yet.

A lot of tolls were removed on 1st January this year. There are some roads mainly around Lisbon and Porto that are still tolled.

The A28, A29, A41, A42, A13, A23 and A24 are still tolled I believe.

We have a Fulli tag (as it works in Portugal, Spain and France plus optionally in Italy).
We found in Portugal about 1 gantry in three did not beep, but they still recorded the passage (and the toll)

The tolls from Portugal can be 2-3 months late in being taken from your account, as they appear to only invoice the providers at the end of the month.

Ditto. Exactly the same experience with our Fulli tag in Portugal.

Don't worry, it's all working fine!

Just in case it’s useful for anybody … I downloaded the ViaVerde app and set up an account for my Hymer.

I drove through the ViaVerde lanes at the toll area on the motorway, there was no obvious recognition on their displays apart from, on leaving one section it said ‘class 2’.

I kept checking the app to see if I had been charged but nothing … I thought it had failed on me. However about two weeks later the charges showed and will be debited from me at the end of the month.

No tag box required, just a small monthly fee to keep the account active.

Ditto for us this year in Portugal - the tag only beeps at the toll gates with barriers and does not with the overhead camera ones and not at the ViaVerde ones.
It’s a worry when the overhead ones come first in the trip after a year of non use of tag - could the battery have died? Not sure how to check.?
