For some reason my lovely lady has amassed a collection of £2 coins. Around £500 in all. Now she seems to think that some are valued at well over ther face value, is she right or not. Should she get rid of them or keep collecting.

This thread got me thinking , we also collect our £2 coins and use them when the pot is full to buy something ‘special’

I will be checking our pot more carefully before cashing in, we typically have £1200 worth every couple of years

It was very noticeable that in 2020 and first lockdowns we didn’t go shopping and so had hardly any change

Gosh I can barely remember when I last handled any Sterling coinage. So rarely use cash for anything in the UK.

Carry a couple of notes in my wallet... just in case I can't tap with a card. Which is rare.

Some can be worth more BUT I have often found it's all hype.
You see a headline saying one is worth say £1000. Then you go on eBay and see a dozen for sale at £5!!
