What’s all this about then ?

What does this sign mean ? I know it’s on the motorway between Spain and Portugal and guess it something to do with motorway tolls but what action do i have to take . I thought I had done away with any complications by getting a tag for Portugal and Spain

That looks like the sign on the A25 not to long after passing from Spain into Portugal. You pull in there to register your vehicle and debit/credit card and registration number so you can be charged for your motorway usage. If you have a tag then you don't need to worry about it

Thanks for that But does that mean I don’t even have to pull in at all or do still have to register as a foreigner ?

No need to register, that point is solely to link a credit card to your vehicle registration for the tolls on the electronic tolled motorways, if you have a tag then that has already been done.

There are also conventional toll motorways with booths in Portugal, they have a 'Via Verde' lane for vehicles with certain tags, might be worth checking if yours also works in these lanes.

PS: well pleased with the wheels and tyres, just re painted the wheel nuts to match

If that was the A22 you can get off at the next one or 2 exits before the toll section starts. Seen the police making sure everyone register on a bank holiday.

If you do not use the electronic motorways there is no obligation to register a credit card at one of these points.

Lots of vehicles enter Portugal at the scores of other points of entry without these registration points.

Last time i went to Portugal the police directed us of the motorway to register i told him i am not going on the motorway so not registering so the police backed me out on to the motorway and i turned of at the next junction on to the N125, its not compulsery to register.
