While getting the WBU number for a Burstner dealer I noticed something odd on the plate.

I have asked the dealer what it means but they said "we don't know we have forwarded your question to Burstner"!

There are 4 weights on the metal tab:-

3,850Kg - This I assume is the maximum weight of the vehicle.
5,700Kg - No idea what this is?
1 - 1,850Kg - I assume this is the maximum weight of the front axle?
2 - 2,000Kg - I assume this is the maximum weight of the rear axle?
3 - blank - I assume this would be if it was a tag axle?

Does anyone know if my assumptions correct?

I am assuming that as the van came from Burstner at this weight, they may have uprated the suspension?

What in hell is the 5,700Kg number for?

The 5,700 is the maximum weight of the vehicle plus any trailer that it is towing - maximum train weight.
Your other assumptions about the weights are correct.

Avoid the dealer like a plague if they don’t understand the concept of maximum train weight.

Thanks everyone.

Luckily I was just asking them for a spare part which they have supplied me with.

I was stunned when they said they would ask Burstner for the answer!

“Stunned”..............I would have been apoplectic! How totally useless are they? It would lead me to question their ability to carry out work on the van.
But,hey! We’re motorhomers,so we should know to expect this crap.

Only those who go near dealers and listen to them, which I do not - well I might but only one or two trusted ones.
