Since 2016 and caravanning before that
It's been a year to forget. My Mother passed away at the beginning of April and my 89 year old Fathers dementia is getting worse. Add in restrictions so we haven't been away for months. This weekend we managed to get some help and had a night away in the van. It was fabulous!
As we left the site we decided we'd call in to a motorhome dealer. Our plan is to get a new van when we retire so homework is to check out possible vans. We've pretty much decided on downsizing to a panel van. We looked at one. Nice and it went on the shortlist. Then we wandered round the back to see if there was anything else. The upshot is we've just put a deposit down on a 2018 Autotrial Imala 625. Yes I know it's a coach built.
Anyway we pick it up first week in September using our beloved Weenie as a p/x. We both know we will be in tears as we leave our baby. So if you know a lovely couple who would like an Xpedition 400 in early September pop along to Elite in Middleton Cheney. I guess it will be around 20k and we'd love to think she'll go to caring owners who'll love her as much as we do.
We really shouldn't be allowed out without a responsible adult.

She will probably be ten thou more than you got for it.

You should liken it to when a dog or cat dies. You are inconsolable at the time, but when you get a new puppy or kitten, all thoughts of the old pet disappear. It will be the same once you get your lovely new motorhome.

life is full of Ifs and Buts.

You have made a decision enjoy your choice.

we changed vans this year and YES it’s a bit of a learning curve to find what fits where, trust most offers of advice & comments and believe, you’ll settle and find what suits.

good luck and be safe

So you've upsized?

Enjoy it! (y):giggle:

Why not put it in the clssifieds and sell it yourself then you will know whu buys it and you will almost certainly get more for it.
I was going to suggest the same. If there's nothing wrong with it then it could be a nice buy for someone who wants to meet the previous owner.

The deal is done as a p/x so I won't mess the dealer about. We'll have a couple more weekends away then look forward to the new baby.

Looking ahead several years to when we might change our MH, when I bought a new Mazda, I had a PX quote for my old car that the salesman used for the financing of the new car but they still have me the option of selling privately until the last few days before the handover.
In the end I did sell my old car to a mate :) & paid the car salesman with money not a car.

Is that a rare purchase option or usually available?

edit: this was 5yr ago so maybe a different 'climate'.
