Just starting to get DAVAN ready for the season and need to flush out the fresh water system to kill all the nasty bacteria, any one use something different from the branded products?
We do not drink the water from the tank and do refill it using softened water from the house, (unless on site)

I just started to do this as well. Im going to use Milton fluid, then flush out. We fill up 4 pint milk bottles for drinking water.

I have used Milton (other makes are available) in the past but in the last 2/3 years have just flushed the whole system through with fresh tap water which is supposed to sort out most bacteria.

This is since fitting a Nature Pure filter and we drink water from the tank.

I bought some Aqua Clean tabs years ago and still have some left, out of date but foil wrapped so I guess they can't have gone off that much. I put a couple in the tank yesterday then part filled it and ran it through hot & cold systems then dumped it and flushed with fresh water. Tasted it and it seemed OK.

We use a filter jug and always drink from the tank. I would like a Nature Pure but there isn't a convenient place to fit one without major surgery in a cupboard.
