Hi everyone,

Like most, when you buy your 1st motor home & are planning that trip you have been waiting for, you need some info.

Well thxs to the wonderful people on here who give good sound honest advice & post their experiences etc we're pretty much sorted & nearly ready to depart on our now unfortunately shorter trip of Europe.
Can now only do July 08 to March 09, but then should be able to go back over there again after our short trip back to the UK.

Anyway to the point of this post:
After reading reviews on Vicarious books, we went on the website & purchased the following:

Go Motorhoming & all the aires (special double deal)
France passion
Camperstop
Green stop & guida camper (special double deal)
Total cost £95.97 including free delivery.

I know that some of you may feel thats alot of money.
But looking at the info I have received from members of this site, it's money well spent.

We ordered these books Wednesday afternoon & the postman delivered them to us this morning.

Taking a brief look through every book, great, just the info we would like to have to hand whilst on our trip.

A big thxs to all of you for all your advice & a big thxs to Vicarious Books for such a great service :thumb:

Hope you have a wonderful time.
You going to keep us up to date on how and where your doing?

Peter

Don't go anywhere without a good book of checklists:Smile:

A book we found very usefull was the ACSI book of campsites with the discount card for off season pitch reductions all over mainland Europe. It even comes with a good map.

Have a fantastic trip :thumb:

There's also the ACSI DVD. The 2008 disc shows sites that are suitable for motorhomes > 7.5m and > 4 tonnes. :thumb:

We are hoping ACSI will include GPS co ords in the 2009 edition.:thumb:

Earlier this year I was on a solo trip to Brittany and it was the first time using the sat nav abroad. It would have been very difficult trying to navigate and drive at the same time. :Eeek:

It would be very interesting to hear the views of any solo members who tour the continent without a sat nav.

a big thxs to Vicarious Books for such a great service :thumb:

Yes indeed.

I ordered the essential ASCI 2009 guild this week and it's here now.

Sorted ! Best tenner you can spend if heading to Europe mainland.

I have emailed to warn them their web site is a bit confusing, they have two on the go and one does not have 2009 on and one has 2009 on and then called it 2008.

This seems to be the latest one:

Two days it took to be delivered!
Excellent service.
I'll order the DVD when it's available and hope I get the same delivery service.
