Is that not just for Spanish registered vehicles?Yes it has been since 2023 for motorhomes
Yes that is correct. Is that not just for Spanish registered vehicles?
Should be OK till end of the year, then I think you'll need to buy a new IoT version which connects to DGT with geolocation?Ive just ordered this one
You might as well if intending to travel to Spain after jan 2026 but you don’t need it now.Looks like we have to have a gps type?
That is only any good until december 31st 2025 as you need geolocation from then onIve just ordered this one
No it applies to uk vehicles as per the last paragraph in the post #12Is that not just for Spanish registered vehicles?
Yes, as from 1st January 2026.Until then the plain flashing one is okAnd, are they supposed to have gps location ability?
Read the last paragraph. As the Uk requires no form of triangle or light then the last paragraph indicates that you will need to comply & get a flashing light. It is only if your country uses something that you could use that means you would comply as per the Vienna convention. As the UK requires nothing then it states that you need to get a light. This is a copy from the N332 Facebook Spanish traffic police forum. A couple of words are obscured but you should be able to see that the V16 vehicle locator rule will only apply to Spanish registered vehicles if your country of origin has its own rules governed by the stated Vienna Convention regulations.

I thought that to start with but it saysRichard
I think that paragraph can be read two ways because of the 'or' word.
It could be read that if the country of registration does not subscribe to the Vienna Convention then it is needed. There are not many countries not subscribing to the Convention.
I thought that to start with but it says
" if your country does not use such devices," which the UK doesn't
" or does not subscribe to the vienna convention" " which the UK does
If either of the above applies then you need to buy one.
The first applies to the UK
They are just starting to manufacture new models with a sucker so it can be attached to the roof or screen and with a push button switch. As I understand it this is designed to be magnetically fixed to the roof of the vehicle and automatically switched on when it is placed on the roof.
But my roof is GRP so it won't work, and I cannot reach up 3m to put it on the roof.
Or have I got it wrong?
The two i bought from Ali Express work without being attached to anything. As I understand it this is designed to be magnetically fixed to the roof of the vehicle and automatically switched on when it is placed on the roof.
