Hi everyone, Happy New Year. Following on from the selling thread, has anyone experience of Motorhomedepot?
We are considering selling our MH through them……..

Why not let me sell it? I don’t expect you to be part of the team 😂

If the proceeds of sale pass through their account before they get sent to your account, your money will be at risk.

If the motorhome is left in their possession (with your permission to sell it) that is also a risk. It's complicated.

As Dirty Harry would say: Do you feel lucky ...

We tried selling our Adria Coral through them and they seemed to be a very professional outfit. Dennis, the chap who came out to view the van was extremely personable and polite and suggested advertising it at the price we’d envisaged so we felt happy to go ahead.
Unfortunately, this was back in March 2020 - just before lockdown began so of course we had zero interest!
In the end we decided to cancel the sale with them and later just sold directly to a local dealer - unfortunately at a lower price. This was no reflection on Motorhome Depot it was simply the wrong time.
SpeedyDux has made a good point about whether the money passes through their account first though and I honestly can’t remember if that was the case. I think full details of the process are on their website.

They use agents so it depends on how good the agent is. A friend brought a van through them, he had no trouble knocking the price down they appear to go for a quick sale, not always in the customer's best interest. If you go with them haggle hard on their commission rates they always start off high.

We used motorhome depot to sell our previous van. We didn't want the hassle of selling privately and were happy with the service although it took a little longer to sell than we anticipated, probably won't be an issue in current market.
The local agent (its a franchise) handles photos, advertising, viewings and negotiations on price. The agent can reduce his own cut to secure a sale, if he chooses. So all 3 parties play a part in agreeing the final price.
I believe they can arrange finance for buyers so that may be attractive. Not sure about warranties.

Depends on local rep. Local to me has his own storage area so viewings become a doddle and you don't need to get involved. Personally prefer selling myself though.

I sold my 2017 Motorhome through Motorhome depot in 2019, my van sold to the first viewer within 3 weeks.
I got exactly what I asked for the van Motorhome depot added £3000 on top and the buyer and myself were really happy with the outcome.
