My 2007 Dethleffs has the DT220 and EBL220-2. When I bought the MH it was fitted with a 105AH AGM battery under the passenger seat and had a cheap PWM solar controller and 1000w modified sine wave inverter wired direct to the battery.

To upgrade the 12v system I've got a 200Ah Ultimatron Lithium battery with built in smart BMS, a Victron Blue Smart 12/25 charger, 360w of PERC solar panels, Victron DC|DC 30A charger, Victron MPPT 100|30, Victron smart shunt, Victron Lynx Distributor, and a 1200VA Victron inverter.

A few questions I have:

How can I trickle charge my starter battery when on HU if I've pulled the 20A fuse to disable the onboard charger in the EBL2200? Is there any way to ONLY disable leisure battery charging and still allow the EBL to charge the leisure battery?

Is there any way to trickle charge the starter battery from the solar? The MPPT 100|30 doesn't have any additional outputs. (Asking because the installed security system slowly drains the starter battery if I don't run the engine for a couple of weeks.)

With none of the battery charging going through the EBL220, the built in shunt won't know what has been put into the battery. Am I going to have issues with the EBL shutting off the 12v system, or does it rely on voltage sensing rather than a decreasing amount of available Ah as calculated by the onboard shunt?

Is there any way to disable the onboard shunt so that I don't get the warning to charge flashing up on the DT220?

Thanks for any info.

Hi

We use the VanBitz battery master to keep our starter battery topped up from lithium fed by solar, there is another one of these devices that can top up from Lithium and is more adjustable than the VanBitz but I can't think of it's name, it has to be noted that some of these battery maintainers and I am thinking of Votronic and Buttner specifically say that they can not be used on Lithium to lead.

well, I would say the name but Eddievanbitz would have a fit so I won't :p

With the 20 amp fuse pulled in the EBL it will still charge the starter battery.
