Just looking at requirements for our trip to Norway (August into September) and as I understood it I would be required to carry snowchains. My plan was to have a pair of chains just for drive wheels. Any thoughts on time of year and whether 4 would be better/necessary. We ar hoping to get to the far North of Norway, so well inside Artic Circle.

Just saw this article - Trans info article - and that seems to suggest snow tyres if over 3.5 tonnes. I am guessing/hoping that this does not include motorhomes and is just for goods vehicles!

Cheers

Martin

We went at exactly the same time as you and similar route, heading back south on 20th September

I wore shorts and sandals for the whole trip, I didn’t know about any snow chain rule when we went, but I am not renowned for reading rules properly 🤔😁

Doubt they would be needed before October
