Truma Combi 6 Gas frost protection

I have Truma Combi 6 Gas in our van. Obviously when we leave it during winter we empty all fresh water out.

But with the frost protection automatic drain have struggled to reset the button to hold water. Which means when below 5c as fast as I press the button in it pops out.

Anyway to get the system and get some heat to get it working without the water running out? I assume you can't put heat on when no water in heater.

Just turn the heating on for a while. Gets the locker warm so the button stays in.

You can use heat with no water in.

Yep, just run the heater for a while, the valve dumps at 3° but won't reset until above 5°.
