I don’t think the later model switch will suit how your boiler operate. Your panel is simple to operate. The righthand dial controls the energy source, where it is 2000w mains, next one down 1000w next gas only, next gas plus 1000w, next gas plus 2000 W. Obviously if on main hook up otherwise gas only. Left hand knob top water only at 60c next down water only at 40c, next off, next heating only, last heating plus water at 60c. If you select heating and water together the water gets heated first, then when up to temp heating will start. If you run the heating only the water will gradually heat up.

Thanks for that. The left dial also has an inner dial with 1-5 selectable. Is that a fan speed or temperate for heating? I assume there is a thermostat still to set the desired temperature? Im going back tomorrow to have a finer look at stuff and give the final nod on purchase to get it thru the workshop.

That’s heating temperature.

The Truma CP plus digital control panel can be fitted if your Truma unit is CP plus ready with the required PCB board version installed (series 5 or later) , if you contact Truma on 01283 587960 they should be able to confirm if yours can have one retro fitted.

I was going to do the same with our Rapido but sold it and purchased a Adria Matrix with the CP unit and I hated it , my biggest bugbear was if you put the hot water on you didn't get heating on Instantly , this was on a Truma 4 don't know if the 6 is the same.
I sold the Adria and now have a Hymer with similar controls to yours and much prefer it.

Depends on the age of the boiler some you can just change the controller costs over 200 quid some boilers need a new PCB as well another 300 quid.

if you look up on the truma web pages they give a PCB number that the upgrade fits which you can look at simply by removing the small top cover of your unit. if it fits great but as Lenny HB has indicated its approx £300 for a replacement pcb.

ours is a 2012 manufacture date and does not have the required pcb, so i decided against.

I changed the controller on my last van that was a 2014 van but I got the controller from a friend in the trade for a 100 quid but I would say at over 200 it's still worth it as it gives so much better control of the heating.
