Good Morning All.
We are off to France for a month touring and wondered whether to get a toll tag rather than pay by card or cash. We have been a number of times through France but never had a tag. Are they worth it and what would you recommend to use?

Bob

Costs very little for the convenience of being able to drive through the tag lane without messing around with credit cards and traffic q’s. I don’t use the toll roads much but wouldn’t be without it. My retirement mantra, keep it simple and enjoy life.

Am I correct in saying that it costs 43 Euros to purchase plus the cost of the toll? Do you get a discount on the toll if using a Tag?

Got mine through eurotunnel.

A bit of a saving.

Here are the details

  • Free application - no fee (save €10)
  • €8** annual fee for the first year of subscription, discounted to €4** from the second year onwards
  • €20 refundable security deposit on the tag
  • €5** active usage fee - only for the months in which the tag is used and capped at €10 in any subscription year

Thanks Landy Andy. That will save 10 Euros at least.

Emovis worked well for us and the same deal that you get through Eurotunnel is available through the Motorhome and Caravan Club. Also worth noting that the tag is readily transferable between vehicles so if you go for a jolly in your car, you can take the tag with you and it will work the same as if in your moho. You can even lend it to family and friends (provided you are confident that they will repay any tolls they pick up).

The emovis tag is handy when I drive solo. The MH is RHD so the toll booth and machine are on the passenger side, which is awkward.

I also got mine via a CAMC offer for members.

If your MH, like ours has been uprated to over 3.5t, can you still use a tag? Does the weight info get collected somehow from DVLA, and appropriate charge then made?

From what I understand, it is for up to 3.5 t as you say. I don't know how strict the criteria would be and how they would check it. I am no expert by any means with this so will take any advice available.

Thinking of getting a bip & go or emovis but not sure which one also how do you pay your tolls via cc or do you need a currency a/c , will be travelling down through France into Spain .

Emovis paid via direct debit from your UK bank account. Their office is in Harrogate, I think.

https://www.fulli.com tag, covers France ,Spain ,Italy linked to your bank card.

And Portugal. ;)

Can be fiddly to set up - I struggled initially but linked it to my Revolut euro account and that worked. They did have a special offer on at the time, no setup fee, no postage, free management period. Only pay a modest fee per country for the month(s) in use, otherwise the account lies dormant.

Another vote for the Fulli (formerly Mango) tag. Worked perfectly for me last month in France.

I am a little confused ? Some people say mango some say bip and go some emovis is it just personal choice or is there one that stands out from all the others or do I not bother and just pay as you go .

I'm confused too we have a tag for France an I have just written to atmb asking about an extra tag for other than France. I don't understand the relationship between atmb and emovis.

We have Emovis tag, absolutely indispensable when travelling on French motorways. The tag means you can use the rapid transit lane, which more often than not is free of traffic, you don’t get involved in having to carry lots of spare change, and the kicker, my non-french-speaking wife doesn’t have to communicate with a control both operator, a process she finds extremely stressful. A no-brainer for us.

Cheers!

Russ

I pay ATMB €1.58 + tax = €1.90 for each month I use the Toll Tag and nothing else.

How do you pay for your toll use cc or acc set up
