Toilet slider sticking

After looking at several solutions to the sticking slider this weekend, as mine had become impossible to use, I poured just a little olive oil onto the dried top of the slider. The black flat surface at the bottom of the bowl looking inside the basin. I slid it open once and it moved like silk. I know this will have been dealt with loads of times but not needing to know before, I had not read what to do. Warning! Use only Olive oil or Thetford/Dometic lubricant.

I think I'd go for the Thetford seal lubricant less chance of grit sticking to it.

I also leave the cassette open when the van isn’t in use, as I find the first use after it being long time closed is the worse.

Just bought some FloPlast (plumbing brand) pure silicone grease http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5...0001&campid=5338547443&icep_item=323886506760 to keep our Dometic toilet working smoothly - the silicone spray that we used to use on our previous Thetford toilet to good effect is useless on the Dometic.
