Well, here we go, 1st April, unsorned, chocs away so to speak, remove wheel chocs, check tyres and pressures, take out of 1st gear, start the engine for the first time in months, solar has ensured the batteries are topped up. Fingers crossed will try a 15 mile excursion up the A41 then hopefully return home without the assistance of recovery, start testing all systems. Fill with water, disinfect, empty, refill test fridge, hot water, heating on gas and mains, well there's half a day gone. Wow will be excitedly knackered. Then, then, wait!!!!! And wait!!!!! And wait!!! Ow heck, ok looking at watch counting the days.... ow I know!!!!!! Wheres the polish(y)

We unsorned ours on Monday, yes paid for the whole of March for two days use but the two days out have been great in this small heat bump. Enjoy your daily shakedowns before your trips

Timely thread, I’ve got my bike on sorn. I’m going to tax it tomorrow 1st April. I’ve never sorned a vehicle before. How do I go about now taxing it? Do I just need the old renewal letter with the 16 digit number or can I do it without?
Thanks in advance.

yep just go on line with 16 digit number. Doing mine now.

no unavailable to me too. Will try again on April fools day might work then

All sorted, quick and easy the dvla web site is. £240. £24.50p by DD gone in a nano second

We’ve got to unsorn ours even if it’s only to get the blasted steering knuckles sorted before our first booked trip to Norden Farm in may. We were going to go away as soon as we could in April but the inspection isn’t until the 19th and one funster was told by their garage that if they were bad they wouldn’t be allowed to use it until fixed so we’re reluctant to book anything now. Keeping fingers crossed but this van has been jinxed so we’re not hopeful, this is the second recall in the 18 months from new!

Just done ours using the 16 x digit Ref No from the V5. £165 for a PHGV weighing in at 6850Kgs. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Ours is being mot,d this morning then we'll tax it. Planned pre use intensive clean this weekend.
It would be really interesting to see the DVLA figures for road tax payments I bet today is a bumper day.

Unsorned ours yesterday for the second time after a brief respite last year hopefully its all go this time also all clean and shiny .

Good luck with the MOT Val. (y) Ours is due again mid May, but I'll take it for test earlier if I can get it in. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

My wife had trouble this morning trying to tax our PVC. Our 16 digit number was not recognised on two attempts.
She then resorted to doing it on the phone with the details on the back of the V5, this worked.
12 months tax for under 3500kgs has now gone up to £280 ! OK someone has to start paying for Richie’s “ help out “ debt, the only thing we have had from it though is 2 x 2 Covid19 vaccinations and a couple of discounted meals in September.

Unsorned last night, flew through MOT this morning , full service and new tyres this afternoon. Happy days !
Back to our travels hopefully very soon now too .

Unsorned motorbike today and taxed it for 6 months. Checked it over and took it round the block. Really nice being back on it again.
Unnsorning and taxing the mh today. Spent yesterday getting the green off it and testing the systems ready for the off😀.

For those who say they UNSORNED yesterday .... do they really mean that or was it today? If not then they will have paid for March for nothing.

I have no plans to go anywhere until 19th April so will wait and see whether there are any changes in the travel rules before I tax my van.

Just had the same problem tonight, it didn't recognise the 16 digit code on the V11. Tried a different route. I went to SORNed part of website and clicked the link to tax the van and it asked for the 11 digit code on the V5 form. Sorted no problem. Was a bit shocked by the £280 too! (y)
