Thetford Indus toilet system - New

Is that a uk version of the rv macerator toilet that's been around for years?

It just seems to be a automated version of the system I had in my Yankee RV , you need room for a black tank which will be a problem for most Euro moho,s plus the extra payload for carrying it .

Don't think much of the van , here's no kitchen, no beds, no storage, what's the point in a posh toilet if you have nothing else????

You would still need to identify a "Suitable"mains sewer, not just any rainwater run off drain or worse
hedgerow:eek:
I can see the few spoiling for the many as usual.
Plus Thetford chems are dear enough already, imagine needing 2/3 different types, bound to be low on one before the others.
Like Most, I will continue to hold my nose and empty the cassette, plus spare, as required  and that is very awkward to do with only having two hands, think about it:unsure:

i think its a step forward despite all the questions and comments that are rightly being asked. will it be abused any more than those who abuse the system now do? if they had shown it being emptied into a camp site wc disposal point and not into just a 'drain' then it may have got a better response.

Unless they are implying it will be clean enough to do just that.

Not really a step forward, more of a european adaptation of an everyday american rv appliance
As has been said..Weight is the big issue for most Van's under 3.5t
Maybe if the big manufacturers take it up then the sites will fit decent dump points to empty them, saves carrying manhole keys (y)

Thetford marketing at its best, naming it after a polluted river that is silting up ?

Says it enables you to go off grid for up to 7 days, gee whizz I can do that with my spare cassette at a fraction of the cost that set up is lightly to be.
