Since 2005 2500+ nights in van - lost count!
I'm more than happy top buy genuine if needed, but after recently replacing my "ignitor" for my hob with a £1.89 ali express version rather than a £25 branded (that failed) - I thought I'd question it :)

Seem to be lots of clone/same cassette toilet seals online, and 5y in its probably time to replace.

My toilet is a C220 series, 2019, so I assume its seal 23721 which seems to be the standard seal?

I'd rather pay £15 than £5 and shout "oh S*it" literally if the cheap one isn't a perfect fit.

So what says the masses, anyone tried the cheap seals and are they OK?

My choice was to bite the bullet and buy a new cassette.

You may find (like I did) that the new cassette is a much better design, so the seals work better.

How old was your cassette? Mine is only 5yo and not aware of any design changes?

There are actually two different seals , I don't know what the difference is but I have come across it before.

yours must be ancient..

yes, there are newer models now with built in wheels but they have been around for a good few years ..

I only ever buy a new cassette when I buy a second hand van and it looks grotty.. I buy 'Fresh-up' kit complete with a new toilet seat ..

back to OP question.. ..

I would buy the one from Thetford.. not worth the grief if the cheep one leaks and floods under the cassette with pee ...

If it was only a risk of pee I'd not overly worry :D :D
But wife agrees - so will probably get a branded one - and maybe a cheap one to go in the "emergency parts box"!

you can get meds for runny poo .. :whistle2:
Thats not a problem, the chemical and sog ish kit turn it all to small matter quite quickly and small enough to come out of the (current) seal thats probably hardened over time.
(don't ask how I know :D though fortunately only when carrying to a CDP and then only a tiny bit.)

Not this van, but the last - a 2014 Hymer Exsis.

Nothing to do with the wheels.

I replaced a 2014 cassette with a new one which had better inside support for the mechansim

I've bought a genuine seal (£10) and blade (£8.40) - so thats another job to look forward to :)

I replaced the whole circular cover with a replica fit and operation all good. Half the price.
