Hi all,
Has anybody got a Chausson Welcome 610 and have you changed the table? If so can you tell me what you have done please. Trying to decide how to make the table smaller and keep it electric. The 2018 models have the folding table a much better design and we’ve been quoted £1000 to change from dealer!!

Cant really help but ive got the 620... same electric table i think..
I noticed they had changed the design to a folding top which seems so much better..
I think id just make a new top and fit that rather than pay that price for a new table...even if you got a good carpenter to knock one up it would be a fraction of the cost..
Andy

Thanks Andy been thinking along those lines too.

A few years ago we had a Chausson and just took the table out, although at that time it wasn’t electric. Just used a cafe type table on a pedestal.

I've been thinking something similar, will have to give it a good ponder.

In our Globecar FamilyScout we have a large pedestal table (not electric) but I removed the top and put on my own smaller one so I should imagine you can do the same.

Not quite the same Minxy, as the current table top, when lowered, forms part of the jigsaw lower bed. So if you think you might need the lower bed, even just as an emergency bed, then you need to have a table top which is same size and load bearing capability as the standard one.

Lots of lateral thinking required for next winter !

If you need to use it as a bed then obviously you need to allow for that, however could you instead carry a piece of board to place on top of the smaller table top for when the need arises?

Hello- did you ever replace your table? We’re thinking of doing the same. We would much prefer the folding table of the newer Chausson 610’s. There’s 3 of us in the vehicle so we definitely need the table to function for the bed purposes too, so we would prefer not to go down the experimental DIY route. Thanks! :)

We just took the table out completely and there is a lot more room, there’s only two of us so we didn’t need the lower bed.
Good luck.

I'm also looking for a folding table top. Only ones I've found are teak things for boats that are £500.

We fitted a Lagun table leg and top which replaced a huge table. Basically you can push it around in order to keep it out of the way when moving around the van.Works really well cost around £450 see pictures.

We want to be able to set up a pair of laptops and both work from the van, so I don't want a significantly smaller table. But at the moment, even when it's slid all the way to one side, it's not easy to get past. And you do need to get past it as it's an a-class, so I've got to use the hab door to get in quite frequently. I've seen other vans use a folding table top, so I was trying to get something similar... Ideas?

I removed the table top in our MH and replaced it with my own which is a bit smaller but there is still an issue getting to the rear from the cab as the sliding mechanism doesn't permit the top to go far enough back/to the side, the only option is to remove the base and top completely and put in something else but hubby won't let me.:crying:

Our table can slide in all directions and rotate. The sliding is useful to get it mostly out of the way. It also drops down and rotates, which I think is for other models that allow you to turn the area into a bed. But we don't have the cushions to make the bed up and the rotation is useless. This multi-axis flexibility makes the table quite wobbly...

I'm wondering if I could have a fixed table leg. And then the table top folds in half to move out of the way when we're travelling.

But I can't find a folding table top... which the latest Chaussons appear to have.

The folding table in our Chausson (2018) is great. The main issue I can see for you is that you need a frame underneath the folding part which can slide out the way when the top is folded. This may be one reason why the replacement cost was so high. It should be possible to build something in wood like drop leaf tables..
