travelling from Luscerne to Milan in July. Never driven there before and driving a 3.4t MH. If anyone has experience of the route, can you tell me how easy/difficult it is to navigate.

A2 Motorway all the way to Como on the Italian border and then drop down to Milan on Italian motorway. Done it and it was very easy. You may get held up a bit at the Gotthard Tunnel if it is busy.
You will need a Swiss Vignette, which you buy at the border. But then you will need one to get as far as Luscerne.
