Stiff/difficult gear change on 2006 2.8 Ducato.

I have had trouble with the gear change on my 2006 30k 2.8 Ducato getting harder and harder to select correct gear, worried an internal gearbox problem after I had checked the linkage cables twice in the last 6months. Recently found a forum comment about a pivot on top of the gearbox corroding up. I took off the air filter and large diameter hoses and removed the quadrant from the pivot with a heavy cold chisel and a lump hammer. The quadrant was full of rust between it's two bush bearings, 5 minutes with a screwdriver and break the rust out then a liberal application of grafite grease. Gear change now better than new. Brilliant.

Well done that man....now I wonder how much that would have cost in a garage, replace this that and the other is their preferred route not free up and grease.:thumb:
