Does the vertical through the roof sog use a fan or is it a gravity system?

Ours uses a fan

They all use a fan to draw the smell of roses from the cassette.

On ours the fan unit appears to be near the roof just below the vent. I have not had a reason to investigate properly but there is a small boxed in area at the back of the bathroom cabinet above the loo and this seems to be where the fan lives. No filter to replace on the roof venting type so no reason to explore whilst it is working reliably.
