Always rented so far
Hi all.

I have only ever rented motorhomes and RVs over the years but do quite fancy owning one myself.

It would only be for my wife and I so it can be pretty compact. We would want something bigger than a Camper - we have a few criteria: Being able to stand up, a hot shower, a nice bed. We also wouldn't want to have to spend too much time configuring things for each phase of life e.g. sleeping, eating, cooking.

So the simple (I know it isn't!) question is... what are your top tips for super compact actual Motorhomes?

Thanks in advance for any advice. Window shopping is part of the fun!

We have the Globecar Summit Prime 540 i.e 5.4m long (about half a meter longer than a vwT6) - it has a fixed bed, combined toilet and shower, table, kitchen etc. Plenty of headroom. Just for me and my wife is perfect. Take a look online - might be up your street. Plenty of other similar ones around. Good luck 👍🏻

Burstner Ixeo Time 585. 6m long. Drop down bed, great living area and spacious kitchen area. Highly recommended. Shower and toilet as well. Totally self contained.

We have a Mileo 201 which is 5.95 metres in length. It has a fixed double bed, a good sized shower (I am 6ft 2in), a decent sized garage for a small van (foldup bike and other kit), a small, but sufficient dinette and galley (kitchen). Perfect for 2 people in my view.

We've got the Ixeo Time 590. Agree with GerTee!

We have just bought a Hymer Exsis I-414, 5.99 meters long, 4 berth-fixed rear and drop down front beds, L shaped dinette and a garage large enough for me to carry a motorcycle-or 2 pushbikes, camping chairs etc, etc.

not too sure what you mean by ‘super compact actual Motorhomes’ but there are quite a few panel van conversions that meet your requirements.
have a look at Consort / Vantage / IH etc

We have the Autosleeper Kingham. It’s a 2 birth PVC with a fixed bed, toilet and shower, good size lounge and kitchen area and decent headroom. A good compromise with a small coachbuilt. 6.3m length. Having downsized from a 7.6m Autotrail it works for us.

We have the Hymer Van 314 on Fiat base. Under 6m and pretty much the same inside as the Merc one in the video. Compact inside but great garage for carrying lots of stuff. Can’t really lounge in it so perhaps not best suited for long winter evenings.
