Has anyone used Sikaflex EBT from Screwfix?

How has it worked for you?
I need to re-seal various seams. Don't need it as an adhesive, just a sealant.

I used some the other week to fit a rooflight. Seemed to work fine.

Worked well for me. I got the black colour. Its extremely effective and hasn't let me down so far.

I did find it went pink after a while. OK as an adhesive but not so good as a visible seal.

Apparently these days it's important to get in touch with your feminine side so pink would be ok.
Apparently it also turns yellow. So does the same hold true? ;)

Its very good. Don't get it on your hands though, its sticks like ... and stays on for days.....which is a good sign

Not UV stabilised

According to the data sheet:

"Colour deviations may occur due to exposure to chemicals, high temperatures, UV radiation (especially with colour shade white). However a change in colour will not adversely influence the technical performance or the durability of the product."

The guy wants to use it as a sealant. If it yellows he will be unhappy I am sure.

I'm using the grey stuff on the sides. Hoping not too much discolouration.
I may use white on the roof seams, not too worried about discolouration unless it's really bad.

The Puraflex data sheet doesn't even mention UV, so no idea if it would be better or worse.

A bit of reading suggests that polyurethane can be made UV stable, but this requires very expensive "aliphatic" polyurethane. Whether this is actually available in a sealant I don't know. The cheaper method for UV protection is to add pigment, which absorbs the radiation in preference to breaking down the polyurethane bonds. This is why the non-white colours do not discolour. Their pigments absorb more of the radiation.

Puraflex 40 from Toolstation is another recommendation / alternative.
But Puraflex 40 sticks like the proverbial and the OP is only looking for a sealant not an adhesive. Or have I got it all wrong again?
I did use Puraflex for some of the joints between cab and body though.

I can highly recommend soudaseal RV61, IMHO every bit as good as sikaflex but considerably easier to use,.

Have around 6 left on the boat for various jobs above waterline, when this wx gives up for a day or two.
Seals very well and a lot cheaper than 291i

Puraflex is both sealent and glue.👍 Never had discoloration or problems using it for both sticking and sealing 👍😉

Yep, used it to re-seal the roof seam last year, all good so far.
