Service Near Devizes (1 Viewer)

Folks,

Any recommendations for service and hab checks in the Devizes area?

Reason for posting, having some trouble finding anyone happy provide a full service on a Fiat Ducato based MH. Seems theres not many garages around who can service an 8.5m 4.5-5 ton MH without a suitable lift or tall enough workshop.

Have tried searching the forums but to no avail.

Thanks in advance for any info.

I had motor home serviced and mot’d here https://garageonthehill.co.uk/
Bowerhill, Melksham so easy access from Devizes. For your habitation check might be worth searching caravan servicing in the area. I know there’s a mobile guy, think he’s called caravan doctor.
Or try above garage and ask their advice, they may know somewhere.

Hab service you can go to Wiltshire caravans, they will do that. The base chassis any good garage, I get mine done in a garage on west Wilts trading estate, good price as well.

There's a mobile motorhome specialist in Westbury, of course he comes to yours, and who deals with all sizes of van. He's competent and intelligent, and really cares to do a good job. He lists service and repairs, habitations, etc Don't think he's FAA or whatever it is, but he is good. Ian@leisurevehicleartisan.co.uk 07776 051994.

They did an interim service anf MOT llast time.

Alas, found oil level below mark, spare wheel located in garage 1 thread from freedom ( would have smashed through the garage door and who knows what else)
Found dint in chassis where they jacked it other than the hard points.
When asked and told, they knew nothing, oh and a big flat on the Al towball cover where they hit a wall parking it. Took two days to do an interim?????

Have booked it into car and commercial, will see How we get on. They have done mot previously but said too big to service.

Have used Imperial Commercials , Frome but at £95 per hour and have had several issues !! The garage mentioned in Westbury Trading Estate (Rigor) is Mercedes and were OK.
But for a genuine helpful old style mechanic who is not going to do unnecessary work, I recommend Pete.

Tag Kon-Tiki serviced today, impressed by workshop being clean and tidy (no grease & crap on the floor ditto no piles of oily scrap) some work in progress as you'd expect BUT what a welcome change on a cleanliness front.

Impressed by Pete, new his stuff and did what was asked, offered advice etc. Will be back for MOT later in year.

Can recommend to anyone needing Service or MOT in the Devizes area.
